Tom Brady Pokes Fun at Deflategate in Foot Locker Commercial.
Tom Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 NFL season for allegedly knowing of the deflated footballs in the 2015 AFC title game. Apparently Tom Brady is ready to make light of the situation.
“Just because something is great year after year doesn’t mean anything is going on” Tom Brady
The NFL and Roger Goodell have seemed to to want to make an example out of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Patriots have been the face of the NFL franchise over the last 15 years. They are a program most in the NFL want to emulate. They win and for that, now people seem to hate them. I cannot figure out why, they seem to do it every year with different people and key pieces, except for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. To me, it is astonishing what they are able to accomplish year in and year out.
Foot Locker has a Week of Greatness the week leading up to Thanksgiving full of shoe releases. Each year they have released a series of commercials letting athletes poke fun at a situation or themselves. This year, with Tom Brady was no different.
Spurs to Retire Tim Duncan’s Number 21
Tim Duncan will have him number retired by the San Antonio Spurs on December 18. Duncan was the Number 1 overall pick out of Wake Forrest by the San Antonio Spurs in 1997. He played all 19 seasons in his career with the Spurs.
When you start to look at the career Duncan had with the Spurs, it is easy to see why they are retiring his jersey. Duncan was a 15x All-NBA, All-Defensive, and All-Star. Duncan was also was 3x Finals MVP and 2x NBA MVP; but his biggest accomplishment was bringing 5 NBA Titles to the Spurs.
“If I asked to write a script for my career 19 years ago, there is no way I would’ve been able to dream up this journey”
Tim Duncan is arguably is one of the top 5 players to ever play the game. The tenacity at witch he played the game, made him a fierce competitor; but it was his humbleness off the court that made him a legend.
Christine Michael Cut by Seattle Picked up by Packers
Christine Michael was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, but he was not unemployed for long; he was quickly picked up by the Green Bay Packers. Seattle cut Michael with the return of Thomas Rawls, and Green Bay could definitely use a running back to help balance the offense.
“I always want to run the ball more, but I also want to throw it 55 times a game, too,” Mike McCarthy
Green Bay has been struggling to run the football this season. James Starks was the leading rusher for the Packers with 33 yards on seven carries this weekend in a losing effort to the Tennessee Titans. Ty Montgomery was converted from wide receiver to running back and was their leading rusher in two games this season.
“That’s the way games are. You have to run the football. Everything starts with running the football.” Mike McCarthy
Michael rushed for 469 yards and six rushing touchdowns in nine games with Seattle. The Packers offense has been struggling this year, but the lack of a rushing attack has made them one dimensional throwing on 71% of their offensive plays. The fact that Aaron Rodgers is the only player on the Packers roster with a rushing touchdown, speaks to just how badly they need a consistent rushing attack.
